Just put some water in a pan, add powder and your cheese sauce is ready! Cheese sauce from a convenient bag actually doesn’t taste like cheese at all and the stuff is often not nice and thick either. And that chemical color on it… no, thank you. Once you know how easy it is to put a fresh cheese sauce on the table, you will never want to do anything else. You can put this delicious and spicy cheese sauce on the table in no time. Delicious with vegetables, nachos, burgers or as a base for pasta.

Cheese sauce can be prepared in several ways, but most often cheese is melted in a mixture of butter, milk and flour to make a smooth, thick sauce.

We have two types of Craxi artisan Gouda cheeses that can be used to make a spicy cheese sauce

  • Gouda cheese with chilli: chilli peppers.
  • Gouda cheese red pesto: chilli peppers, basil, garlic, oregano leaf, pepper, and paprika.

The preparation time for the cheese sauce is approximately 15 minutes.

What ingredients do you need to prepare the cheese sauce?

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 200 grams of grated Gouda cheese with chili

How do you prepare the spicy cheese sauce?

  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the flour and stir constantly for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture begins to brown slightly.
  • Slowly pour the milk into the pan, stirring to avoid lumps.
  • Keep stirring until the sauce starts to thicken.
  • Add the grated cheese and continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce has reached a smooth consistency.
  • If the sauce is too thick, you can add some extra milk to achieve the desired consistency. If the sauce is too thin, you can add some extra grated cheese and stir again until the cheese is completely melted.
